Overheard in the hospital cafeteria the other day:

A Chinese kitchen staff person was conversing rather loudly with another Chinese co-worker in Mandarin. Suddenly a Mexican co-worker exclaimed across the room, "Speak in Spanish for goodness' sake! You're living in California! Man!"

I was very amused.
