Rule #1: It doesn't matter whose Taiwanese grandmother it is... anyone can call her "Ah-ma."
Rule #2: If you're doing something wrong, Ah-ma will let you know. Even if it's not your Ah-ma.

I went to a Taiwanese community Bah-zhang-making event, and I almost learned how to make my own bamboo-leaf wrapped meal. Ah-ma started teaching me, an eager little student with a hearty appetite. Halfway through, however, after multiple nearby moms suggested I wasn't putting the fillings in correctly, Ah-ma must've thought I wasn't capable enough of doing the complex folding/tying techniques. She promptly took my Bah-zhang away and finished making it herself. Lesson over.

Rule #3: Just eat whatever Ah-ma makes for you.
