I'm quite excited today seeing the results of yesterday's mid-term elections, with Democrats regaining control of the House and the Senate. I think the tide has finally turned, with so many historic moments: The first Muslim congressman (Minnesota), The first female Speaker of the House (California), the second elected African American governor (Massachusetts). And in local races, Korean American Jane Kim winning the highest number of votes for SF School Board, and Taiwanese American John Chiang winning Controller of California.

The diverse faces, backgrounds, and ideas represented by our leadership is where tolerance begins. Our world and our country need a little more of that right now.
